Chapter 189 Second Chances
It is with pure elegance that she appears from behind the thick brush, with a coat that is as red and brown and a scent of hints of honey; she is a sight to be held. But her fury is present in the snarl and snap of her teeth. With claws that are sharper than a blade, one can see why my dear friend has sustained the wounds that he has.
Yet, it seems that she is not done yet, for she is descending on him rather fast. She is here to settle a score, and it does seem that she shall not leave here until her mate finds himself dead. How love can turn so wicked, or yet should I say betrayal. Betrayal is the scorned man’s greatest weapon, and it has been handed to Mirabelle to yield as she finds fit.
Though it seems that I will not be the one that shall have my justice. This mutt, this friend, he shall die at the hands of another.
So I only but step aside…and what a fateful mistake…for next…
Mirabelle comes charging at me with utmost haste and pure determination. It seems her lust for death has not yet been satisfied, or does she see me as a threat as I am a friend of the man that she is trying to kill?
With Sam at the back of me, he only but shouts, “Shoot the goddamn woman.”
Not even yet has his words gone by, and Mirabelle storms towards me with no sign of backing down. The minute she comes within distance, she slams her front feet into my chest. The force of the impact knocks me down and drives me several meters over the muddy ground.
“Well, you have just ruined a perfectly good suit.”
From next to me, I hear the Winchester boy, Dean, only but mumble, “Well, I still do not know why you wear them when we go on a hunt.”
I do not have a moment to answer for; next, I have Mirabelle standing with all fours over my slightly trembling body. The thought of being ripped to pieces by a Werewolf did not cross my mind at all today. But not having another moment to think…I react…In as little as one…two…three… I expose my own claws in a pure sign of brutal force and slam her back against the rock from where behind she came.
Though she is two steps faster, and she is immediately on her feet. I do not hesitate, with a rumble in my voice, I step closer, “Mirabelle, you know that you will not win, so I ask of you to stand down.”
There is only but a roar that comes from what is supposed to be supple red lips, but there is nothing supple about them. So she makes her advance with a steady pace, taunting me as she swerves from left to right. And if that is not intimidating alone, she has only but strands of what I can describe as drool coming from her teeth.
And it does not take me but a second, and I expose my fangs and snap my neck. With a soft hiss, I warn her off, yet she does not stop; she continues to approach me with the intention of only causing me harm.
Then as she finally comes within an arm’s length, she starts to circle me in absolute pure torture. But I only keep up her taunting as I spin and spin on my heels, not once breaking eye contact. Then I launch at her, I go straight for her neck. My claws dig deep into her chest as I rip her off from the ground and toss her through the air.
She falls with a loud thud.
I hear a crack.
Then a moan.
Then she attacks me once again, but I shift my feet to the left, and she rushes straight past me, nearly knocking herself into a tree.
As she comes at me from the back again, I hunch my body down and wrap my arms around her body, with only one flick, and not that the hair is pleasant at all, but I slice my fangs through the sensitive parts of her neck.
She howls and drops to the floor, but in no time at all, she is up again.
She rips me from behind on my shoulders, and I fall on my back. With one swift swing of her claw, she slashes me open on the chest. In pure agony, I cry in pain.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
Yet it is only for a brief moment as I jump to my feet, and with a slide of my foot, I knock her out from under her feet. Once again, I pin her down and rip my teeth through her skin…not once…but twice…four times over and over again.
Then from the side, I hear Sam yell, “Incoming.”
Through the air comes the Colt, and the moment that Mirabelle sees it, there is a fear that creeps into her eyes for the first time. She shall meet her end today, that alongside her mate.
But it is her mate that turns back into his human form as I firmly point the gun at Mirabelle. He comes to stand in front of me, “Please, Lucas. Please don’t.”
“My friend, you know how the rule lies; I believe that it is the woman that slaughtered your camp. You, my friend, are only a man with a nasty habit.”
He looks at me as he cocks his head, “What habit are you referring to?”
“Your drinking.”
“No, Lucas. Those were littered in the forest by a young group that had a gathering here the night before.”
I only but shake my head, “You are lying. Why do you have these blackouts then?”
Yes, I did have to ask, for next thing, there is a Werewolf that morphs into a beautiful woman. Her red hair is glowing in the sunrays that are piercing through the trees. And there are those unmistakable red velvety lips that I can remember so fondly. Well, I did perhaps have my own encounter, but that is not the problem here.
She is goddamn naked and a rather big distraction.
Though she has something to say, “Oh the blackouts, that was a little spell that I got from a useless fairy. The spell was supposed to have brought him back to me, but the goddamn woman did not know what she was doing.”
“Fair, Mirabelle,” I try my best not to lay my eyes on her perfect bosom, “You have killed many of your kind.”
“There, my dear Lucas, you are once again wrong; there is another that is on the loose.” Then she turns to her mate, “I am afraid to say my love that it is one from your pack.”
“Well,” I look at her in complete confusion, “Why did you try to kill me then?”
“Because you were going to kill him.”
I hear as Sam bursts out in a fit of uncontrollable laughter, “Not even I can make up this shit.” Then his brother joins him in union, “You guys are way fuck up for a bunch of mutts. Now give us one reason why we should not kill the both of you because I am finding this story somewhat hard to believe.”
Then I step in with a suggestion, “Well, if you bring me the head of the one that has been doing these killings, then I shall let you live. But I beg you to understand that I shall not hesitate to come to find you and make sure that you are dead.”
With that, the Winchester brothers only but stare at me, and Sam is the first to speak, “Man, have you gone completely insane?”
“No, my dear Sam, there should be a fairness in all things.”
But just then, as the words leave my mouth, I hear a rustle, and from behind the trees, I see the very thing that we have been discussing, so with the length of my arm aimed at him, it takes me one flick of the trigger, and the mutt drops to the floor like a sack of shit. Everyone stands in complete disbelief.
Very satisfied that the affair has been solved rather sooner than expected, I turn to Damien; he only but nods his head, “Lucas, you are in great trouble.”
