The Alpha’s Dynasty

Peaceful

Zane.

The warriors that had surrounded the cottage started running after me and the two warriors I was with. They started chasing after us without shooting. It was apparent they wanted to capture me without injuring me. One of the warriors was captured and his neck was snapped before he was left on the ground. I was very good at running but my chest was starting to ache and my head was throbbing due to my father throwing me down. When the next warrior was caught, I knew it was only a matter of time. As strong as I was, I was alone and it was going to be almost impossible to outrun 30 strong men. For some reason, my powers were no longer working which was very annoying.

Suddenly, the men stopped coming after me and stood there, looking very confused. I figured it was a trick so I continued running but when I looked back, I saw that they seemed genuinely confused.

“Alpha!” One of them yelled. He was a short guy that was always guarding the pack house. I stood, wondering if they were up to something. They all went down on their knees at once, confusing me even more. I tilted my head. If this was a trick, it was a really good one.

“We’re sorry,” the men said in unison.

Suddenly, one of the warriors that had been on my side outside the courage came running. I watched as he came to a stop in front of me. “My condolences,” he said, bowing to me.

“What are you talking about?” I asked, although I could tell what he was about to say.

“Your father has been killed, sir.”

“Who killed him?”

“Miss Chelsea.”

I was enraged. I set off immediately, running to the cottage as the men followed me. When I reached, I went straight inside. My father was on the ground, bleeding out. The thin dagger he had threatened to use on me was stuck to his chest.

“Father!” I said, going on my knees next to his body. I couldn’t believe he was really gone. This was my second time losing him and it felt more real this time because I knew I would never see him again. This was not what I wanted. Feeling furious, I stood up. “Where is she? Where is that woman?”

The men around shook their heads, looking uncertain. “She was not supposed to kill my father.”

I glanced at the man who had given me life. I knew for a fact that my father would have not killed me. Had he been capable of that, he would have killed me a while back. He had several chances. Memories of the old days when I deeply loved and respected my father came back in waves and I felt my eyes getting misty.

“Take my father to the pack house,” I said, before stepping out of the house. “Charles, Myron. Come with me.”

The two warriors who had been zapped by my father followed me.

“Do you have them?” I asked Charles. He nodded.

We ran through the woods, using our super speed. Within a few minutes, we were at the hotel Chelsea was staying in. I thought she would have checked out after what she had done but she was still there. I went into the room with my guards.

“You were not supposed to kill him,” I said.

She stood up from the couch. “I know, but he wanted to kill you. Why are you defending him? You hated the man. Why are you acting like he was the love of your life?”

“He was my father, and I just wanted to stop him from taking over. I didn’t want him dead.”

“Well, we’re not perfect. Things happen. I stopped him from taking over, and now it’s time for you to honour your promise. You have to reject your mate.”

“Are we going to do this the easy way or the hard way?”

“I choose the hard way,” I said, lunging at her. She chuckled and sent me hurtling back to the wall with her powers. I nodded at the men with me and we all attacked at once. She was trying to repel my attack when Charles rammed the syringe into his buttocks. She laughed. “What do you kids think you’re doing?”

Her laughter starting dying as her skin paled. She twisted her face and gritted her teeth before screaming. “Ahhhh…” with her eyes wide, she fell on to the floor.

“Quick, grab her. We don’t have much time.”

I had done research and found out that she was a tribrid. She had vampire, werewolf and witch blood. Her witch blood was from one of the strongest covens, which was why she was one of the strongest witches alive.

There was a concoction of herbs that could put her down for utmost 10 hours. That was an average estimate, which meant it could keep her for less or more time than that. The concoction was very expensive and rare. I had only been able to get 5mls, which meant I had to figure out how to get rid of her within 10 hours which was really hard. Tribrids were very hard to kill.

We took the unconscious woman to my house and I had a number of warriors guard it, after telling them to call me in case she got up. We put her in a cage in the basement. It was laced with vervain and wolfsbane on the sides and other substances I wasn’t sure what they did. There was something I needed to do within ten hours. I didn’t know if I would be able to kill her but I had to make sure those I loved were safe in case I failed to get rid of her.

She looked so peaceful as she lay unconscious on the floor. I shook my head as I headed to the basement stairs. Appearances can be very different from reality.
