The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 1253

A pair of eyes shimmering like the ocean waves, Ronald felt a shiver run through his body, suddenly waking from a dream. Sweat trickled down his spine.

A strange feeling echoed in his chest.

He reached out, irritated yet somewhat helpless.

Was a dream really that powerful?

Over the years abroad, mingling with the Malones, he had met many people, including some very impressive women.

But with them, aside from respect, he never harbored any improper thoughts.

Except when it came to Kari.

He rubbed his face hard, got out of bed, and walked into the bathroom.

After a cold shower to wash away the sweat, Ronald felt thirsty and went to the kitchen for a glass of water. Mid-drink, he remembered the Malone's grand dinner. He hadn't attended.

There would be complaints, for sure!

Back in his room, Ronald checked his phone to find a string of missed calls.

He deleted them all, pretending he hadn't seen any.

That dream had utterly banished sleep for the night.

He spent the night sorting through work, even canceled a negotiation set for the next day, deciding instead to accompany Willa for her hospital check-up.

At six in the morning, Ronald went for a run.

On his way back, he picked up breakfast.

Willa had just woken up, surprised: "Ronald, you're up early?"

"Willa, I got us breakfast. Eat up, we'll head to the hospital soon for your check-up."

Willa beamed: "You're so busy with work, I could go alone."

She didn't want to disrupt Ronald's hectic schedule.

"Your health is more important, Willa."

After breakfast, Ronald went to wake Kari.

The three of them had breakfast together, Kari having the day off thanks to Brittany Dustin granting her a month's leave for some rest.

"Then let's all go to the hospital," Kari suggested.

After breakfast, they got ready and headed straight to the hospital.

Willa's primary doctor was surprised to see Ronald but quickly regained composure, inquired about Willa's condition, and reminded her to keep up with her medication.

Willa, who had been clinging to life through medication, asked, "When can I finally stop taking these pills?"

"We're currently looking for a

suitable kidney for you. As soon as we find one; you can undergo the transplant surgery," the doctor responded, offering hope that a transplant could reduce her

dependency on medication.

"Okay."

Exiting the office, Willa followed a nurse to collect her medication.

Kari had noticed the doctor's surprise and turned to Ronald: "Bro, you know the doctor?"

Ronald, aware of her sharpness, didn't bother hiding the truth.

"I arranged for Willa's treatment

abroad." He paused, "I've been searching for a suitable kidney. We found one, but due to other complications, the surgery was postponed-"

The Malones had been meddling behind the scenes.

Moreover, Willa's frail health had concerned the doctors about her surgery prospects.

Now, with the Malones unable to interfere and Willa's health relatively stable, the chances of a successful transplant surgery were much higher.

Kari hadn't realized Ronald had orchestrated this: "Bro, thank you."

Without Ronald, their mom might not have been here today.

Ronald shook his head, his gaze deep: "Really want to thank me?"

"Of course."All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

Kari sensed something in Ronald's eyes but couldn't quite pinpoint it. Licking her lips, she offered, "Whatever you want, I'll make it happen."

If only you knew...

Ronald almost voiced his true desire but switched gears at the last moment: "There's this restaurant with rave reviews. How about you treat me to a meal there?"

Kari had braced for a grand request, relieved it was just a meal, readily agreed: "Sure."

Ronald mentioned the restaurant by name.
