Chapter Thirty Six
Chapter Thirty Six
Tracy
I felt very comfortable in Alex's arm, so comfortable that I fell asleep in no time, he didn't promise me
anything, he didn't do anything either, all we did was sleep all night.
I woke up the next morning still in his arms, and honestly, I didn't want to move, I wanted to stay there,
but I knew I shouldn't stay, it was hard but I tried to roll away from his warmth. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
I was shocked when he pulled me back and hugged me closer, I didn't even know he was awake.
"Alex?"
"Hmm?"
"Let go"
"No, let's stay like this for a while." He said his voice sounding husky, It was sending different
sensations down to my stomach
"I have to prepare the kids for school."
"No, they are not going to school, remember?"
"Oh, that's true, I have to call their teacher," I said trying to move away but he pulled me back.
"Just five more minutes, please."
I couldn't say no, we were like that for over five minutes, and I can't lie I enjoyed it, but I know I have to
make breakfast.
"Five minutes is up," I said and he groaned.
"I love you Tracy, and I'm willing to wait, I'm willing whenever you are ready." He put something in my
hand then left the room when I checked what it is, I found out he gave me back my wedding band, I felt
like crying at that moment.
I stood up from the bed, I said my prayers then I kept the wedding band in the drawer.
I helped the kids take their baths then I went to the kitchen to make breakfast, I made coffee first then I
started on a simple breakfast of pancakes and maple syrup.
Alex's father came downstairs when I was halfway through.
"Good morning sir."
"Good morning."
"Would you like a cup of coffee?"
"Sure." He replied then cleared his throat.
He came into the kitchen and I gave him a cup of coffee
"Would you like sugar or milk with that?" I asked moving to get the sugar but he shook his head.
"No, this is just fine." He said, he cleared his throat then mumbled a thank you, I almost chuckled but
then I nodded instead.
He left the kitchen the kitchen for God knows where, while I finished breakfast, I set the table then I
called everyone to come to the dining room.
We all had breakfast then when we finished breakfast, my father-in-law took the kids to the sitting room
while Alex helped me clean up.
"You are right Tracy," Alex said breaking the silence as we washed the dishes.
"About?"
"About my father, he can be very soft, but I've judged him so much that whenever I look at him, I see
the conclusion I made on him."
"It is not too late, try to be nicer to him, he is getting old," I said and he nodded
My phone rang at that moment and Alex told me to leave the rest of the dishes to him, I checked the
caller ID to see it was Tiana
"Hey, Tiana."
"Hey Tracy, how are you doing?"
"I'm good, how are you?"
"Well, I'm good." For now, I added quietly
"Something is wrong, talk to me." Tiana Said and I sighed.
I updated her on everything, I told her about my father-in-law, the chocolate boxes, the paper, I told her
everything and I told her the decisions we made.
"I'm so sorry these things are happening to you Tracy, I'm sorry, I wish I can do something about it."
"It's okay, God is in control."
We talked for a while before she hung up, I went back to see that Alex was done with the dishes and
he was wiping his hands, the sunlight coming from the window shone on his wedding band, making it
shine.
"What?, Why are you looking at me like that? Should we go back to bed?' he asked smirking making
me blush.
There is no way I can stay mad at Alex, in fact, I'm not mad at him, he had his reason for leaving me
six years ago and it is not fair that I'm still punishing him for something I've forgiven him for.
"It's morning sir," I said grinning, the smirk fell right off his face and it was replaced with a confused look
I went back to my room and removed my wedding band from the drawer I left it earlier, I slipped it on
and I was glad it still fits perfectly.
I left the room and joined everyone in the sitting room.
"Mum, are we not going to school?" Michael asked
"Well, for now, you guys are taking a break."
"Yayyy!" They exclaimed jubilating
"Michelle, Micheal!" I called but they ran to their granddad.
"Hey, look at these little traitors, why didn't you run to me?" Alex asked folding his arms
"Don't call my grandchildren traitors!" His dad said while the kids laughed at Alex, I couldn't resist
laughing at his expression too.
I ran my hand through my hair, then I caught Alex staring at me, his mouth slightly open.
"What?" I mouthed and his eyes moved to my hand, I realized he was staring at the wedding ring.
He gestured upstairs towards my room, then he went upstairs, I followed a few minutes later.
"Tracy, what are you trying to tell me?" He asked the moment I entered.
"Trying to tell you?"
"Don't act like you don't understand what I'm talking about please, earlier you flirted with me, and
minutes later you are wearing your wedding ring, tell me what you are trying to tell me, Tracy Johnson."
"And what do you think I'm trying to tell you?"
"That we are good?"
"Yup"
"Completely good?"
"Yes, my love."
"You've forgiven me?"
"Yes sweetie"
"This is not some kind of show for my dad, is it?"
"No, it is not daddy."
"Sweet." He said right before his lips met my mine, he didn't try to be gentle, he went hard making me
struggle to catch up, I giggled as he lifted me.
"Let daddy show you what he can do."
