Chapter 76
Chapter 76
Aurelia found herself muttering under her breath, feeling as if two piercing green lights were dancing
before her eyes, causing them to throb with discomfort.
“He’s the big boss of our company, and Arno’s younger brother.”
“Really?” Avery’s eyes widened in surprise as she glanced between the distant Leopold and Arnold,
“Arno, you and your brother don’t look very alike.”
Arnold shrugged casually, “We only share a father.”
“Oh, I see.” Avery scratched her head, sensing some tension between the brothers.
Aurelia nibbled on a piece of pie, her eyes sneaking another look at Leopold. To her surprise, he turned
his head at the same moment, their gazes clashing in midair, sparking a silent tension.
Startled, she quickly lowered her gaze, pretending to sip her juice while her heart pounded wildly.
Gossiping was a dangerous game, best trod carefully.
Leopold frowned slightly. Was this woman enjoying the show? Her calm demeanor was irritating.
Evelyn offered him some fruit, “Leo, would you like some grapes?”
Elowen rolled her eyes and quickly peeled an orange, “Leopold doesn’t like grapes. He prefers
oranges.”
Leopold was in no mood to eat, craving some peace and quiet.
He stood up, “I have a meeting to attend, so I’ll leave first.”
“I’ll go with you.” Evelyn quickly grabbed her bag.
“I’m leaving too.” Elowen didn’t want to be left behind.
Unfortunately for her, Leopold left with only Evelyn, leaving her standing alone in the chilling wind, her
heart sinking.
Aurelia couldn’t help but sympathize.
A forced relationship was never sweet. Why hang herself on Leopold?
That evening, a wardrobe full of custom–made clothing was delivered to her apartment. The designs
were clever, perfectly concealing a pregnancy.
After a shower, she tried on each garment, finding each one to fit perfectly.
How did Leopold know her size?
Suddenly remembering how he’d seen her naked in the shower and touched her on the plane, she
blushed.
Just then, the sound of the door opening startled her.
Stepping but to see, it was none other than Leopold himself.
Speak of the devil, and he shall appear.
“Mr. Leopold, it’s late. Why are you here?”
Leopold frowned at her tone, “You don’t want me here?” Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
Inwardly, Aurelia emphatically nodded, but outwardly she forced a smile, “It’s not that. It’s just a hassle
for you to come and go so late.”
“I’m not leaving tonight.” Leopold’s tone was casual, like a light breeze, yet it sent her into disarray.
Wait, what? Was he planning to stay the night?
“Mr. Leopold, it’s inappropriate for a man and woman to share a room.”
Leopold settled onto the couch, a wicked smirk playing on his lips, “It’s perfectly legal and reasonable.
What’s the issue?”
“But.” She was cut off by his icy tone.
“There are no buts. This is my territory. I make the rules.” His words dripped with dominance.
Aurelia felt utterly helpless, her pride constantly trampled by this dictator.
“Then suit yourself. I’m tired and I’m going to bed.”
She retreated to her room, deciding avoidance was her best bet.
She planned to do some designing, but her mind was too chaotic. All her senses were on high alert,
attuned. to the slightest movement outside.
The living room was quiet. He must have gone to his room.
After a while, she ventured out to get a glass of water.
To her surprise, she spotted Leopold emerging from the bathroom.
Clad in nothing but a towel, his alluring torso was on full display.
Her eyes were drawn to him, unable to look away.
She’d always thought he had a perfect body, and seeing him now, she knew the rumors were true. He
was stunning, breathtaking.
Dressed, he was a natural model. Undressed, he was a lethal temptation.
