Chapter 326
"By now, I'm sure everyone's seen today's trending news, right? That's right-Ms. Stella is the mysterious donor who contributed a staggering sixty million dollars' worth of artifacts and another forty million in charitable funds!"
"Some of the pieces she donated to the museum are actually priceless antiques that had been lost overseas!"
"Honestly, Ms. Stella's generosity is absolutely admirable!"
"I bet you're all curious to see what this donor looks like, aren't you? Well, let's not wait any longer-let's meet the woman behind this incredible act of kindness!"
The camera panned to Stella, who stood surrounded by a crowd of reporters and onlookers.
"No one expected this, did they? The mysterious donor is so young and beautiful!”
People watching the livestream on their phones, while keeping one eye on the TV at home, were left in shock.
"Wait a second-doesn't the woman on the livestream look just like the one in this morning's news broadcast?"
"Are you serious? They're the same person?!"
"What's going on? Wasn't she just some con artist pretending to be Mr. Haynes' wife? How did she turn into someone donating a hundred million dollars?"
"A hundred million?! Did I hear that right? Is she really that wealthy?"
"Come on, this has to be some publicity stunt, right?"
"Publicity stunt? Give me a break-this is Neo-Vespera's official morning news channel! Since when do official networks pull stunts like this?"
Jasper's livestream chat exploded.
The comments were coming in so fast, they blurred into a flood of unreadable text.
Outside the packed crowd, several reporters who had been pushed aside overheard the questions being asked and were just as stunned.
"Hey, isn't this the woman wrapped up in scandal? She's been faking her identity as Haynes' wife, stirring up drama online, and I heard she's even under investigation for financial crimes... Are you sure you're interviewing the right person?"
Someone nearby shot him a disdainful look. "You entertainment reporters are all the same—always digging for dirt and spinning stories. No wonder you don't know what's really going on. That's why you'll never make it in serious journalism."noveldrama
The man blinked and instinctively glanced at the microphones these reporters were holding.
His expression changed instantly.
All of the latecomers were from legitimate TV networks-some even from Channel One, the most prestigious of all.
The entertainment reporters exchanged uneasy glances.
"What... what's happening here? Weren't we supposed to be exposing her? How
did she suddenly become this celebrated philanthropist?"
They could only watch, dumbfounded, as the network journalists jostled to interview Stella.
The TV reporters represented not just their stations, but the authority of the press itself. They prided themselves on professionalism and accuracy, ensuring every story they aired was thoroughly verified.
To them, entertainment reporters-always on the hunt for scandals, twisting facts, chasing sensational headlines-were hardly more than gossip-mongers.
At best, they could be called entertainment journalists; at worst, just paparazzi with no real credentials.
Of course, none of the entertainment reporters dared offend the network journalists. They all knew, deep down, that they were a rung below in the media hierarchy.
Entertainment reporters would do just about anything for a scoop, desperate to grab public attention, while the network journalists, intent on protecting their station's reputation, treated every interviewee with professional courtesy-never fawning, even with celebrities, nor showing disdain, even for those mired in scandal.
Now, seeing these respected reporters treating Stella with such enthusiasm—it was simply unbelievable.
What do you think?
