After all, Davina had saved the prison a significant amount of money and handled numerous issues caused by the inmates' health problems.
Caleb had only been out for a few days, and Davina knew exactly when he'd been released.
So, when she received a message, she instantly recognized who it was from. Caleb then shared some of his plans with Davina, and they spoke for a while.
That was until someone interrupted their conversation.
As the man in fitted trousers approached, he brought with him an air of sharp authority that was hard to ignore
Caleb looked up, his smile a little too casual as he asked, "Someone you know!"
Davina lified her gaze too, "Not exactly"
Caleb gave a vague hum, ready to keep talking-until he lost his patience. "Excuse
me, Sir," he said, voice clipped. "We're in the middle of a conversation. Do you always stand around like a streetlight?"
Blair's voice was firm and direct. "Step aside. I need a word with her."
Caleb stayed where he was, turning his eyes to Davina instead,
Davina could tell Blair wasn't going to back down without saying what he came to say,
Only then did Caleb rise from his seat and walk away.
Blair slid into the spot he'd left behind.

gave Caleb a small nod.
Maybe it was the years he'd spent in a position of power, but even as Blair sat and motioned to Davina, he carried himself with a quiet arrogance.
"Is playing commoner out here really that enjoyable? Wouldn't you rather come back home?" he asked coolly
If you looked closely, there was a trace of resemblance between the two. Davina gave a sharp smirk. “You say that like I'd actually be happier crawling back to the Summer Mansion just to play servant. Every time you open your mouth, it's either a jab or a lie. No wonder you and your lovely sister are two of a kind- born in filth, and talk like you've never left it
Blair's normally steady face darkened, his mouth drawn into a tight, cold line.
"Davina, don't forget-I'm your brother!" Blair snapped. "You'd better watch that mouth of yours."
Davina's smile was calm, even sincere. I'm an orphan. My family's long gone. As for you-what exactly do you think you are to me?"
Blair hadn't expected her to be this different.
His younger brothers had warned him that she'd turned irrational and quick to throw personal jabs
But seeing it with his own eyes was still hard to wrap his head around.
"How did you turn out like this in just two years? You were supposed to reflect and change-not come out worse!" Blair said in a low, scolding tone.
Davina leaned back in her chair, casually swirling her coffee with a lazy flick of her wrist.
"Wondering how I ended up like this? Maybe ask your lovely family. Weren't they the ones who set it all in motion? Was I meant to be 'reformed' in there? Get some kind of life lesson? What lesson, Blair-that I shouldn't have taken the fall for someone else? That I was an idiot to trust you? Honestly, if you're going to talk, try using that brain first-or I might start

thinking stupidity runs in your bloodline."
With each word Davina threw at him, Blair's pride took another hit.
There's no need to dig up the past," he said stiffly, hoping to steer the conversation away from old wounds.
After all, the Summers couldn't escape responsibility for that incident.
Davina smirked, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Blair, did your family sleep well these past two years, knowing you let your blood sister take the fall for your adopted one?"
Blair exhaled sharply, trying to keep his composure. "Stella is innocent. She has a bright future that shouldn't be tainted by that incident. We intended to make it right once you came back, but you chose this path, constantly going against Stella."
"I came here today to have a proper conversation with you," Blair finally stated, his voice firm
Davina's lips twisted into a cold smile, but she remained silent, intrigued to see where this would go.
Leave that man, come back to Summer Mansion, and apologize to Stella for your recent behavior. I'll overlook everything that happened before. Whatever you want, we'll accommodate you. But you must promise no more conflict with Stella." Blair continued, his tone sharp. "It's not about favoritism. It's just that, after all these years, we've seen Stella grow up. know how hard she's worked, and our parents have high expectations for her. You can't keep getting in her way!
