Helen completely ignored Huub's fawning smile, however, and kept her eyes on Leino as she said solemnly, "You must be Leino Himmich, the police commissioner of Bralog. Madam Yimmel has told me about you.

"However, this man is my husband," she added, gesturing at Frank just then. "So may I ask you to do me a favor and look the other way if he has disrespected you?"

"Do you a favor?"

Leino frowned and asked coolly, "And who are you?"

"Helen Lane, board chairwoman of Zamri's Lanecorp."

"Helen Lane..."

Leino searched his mind, but he had never heard of Helen, so she would definitely not be anyone important.

However, it stunned Leino that Yora stood behind that young woman—did that mean that the Yimmels were vassals to Lanecorp, even though Leino had never heard of them?!

After some thought, Leino stroked his beard and said, "Yes, I can look the other way, but the property damage he has caused..."

He looked pointed at the mostly demolished exhibition hall, his meaning obvious.

"Not a problem." Helen nodded, agreeing to the deal right away.

That left Leino surprised, since the exhibition hall was not that cheap to build-it was five hundred million dollars if they had to rebuild it, but this young woman agreed to it anyway?!

"Helen? Why aren't you talking to me?"

On the other hand, Huub was at once annoyed that Helen was protecting Frank and completely ignoring him.

To his shock, Helen merely shot him a brief glance before turning away in disdain, leaving his rage flaring. "Let's go, Frank. I've spoken to the Yimmels-we just have to plan something else to save the hostages..." Helen turned toward Frank just then, suddenly turning from an ice queen girlboss to a humble, demure lady. Huub was left gaping as he watched from the distance, and even the exhibition visitors were left stunned too.

None of them had expected such a

charismatic, haughty girlboss who would not bow to the police

commissioner of Bralog to suddenly change to such a mild soul around Frank. g

"That's unnecessary."

Nheless, Frank did not care about the looks everyone else was giving him.

He strode up to stand beside Helen

watching Leino and Huub from the distance. "I've already made a call ahead of time. He'll be here soon."

"Here? Who?" Helen asked, surprised by Frank's confidence.

"The mayor of Bralog," Frank said quietly, not bothered to keep Helen in suspense. "Pfft..."

Huub pretended to laugh out loud right then, even if he was really jealous of Frank and would kill him. on the spot to take Helen from him "You've really done it now, Frank! Helen came to save your ass, but you're rejecting her goodwill? You really think you have the mayor of Bralog at your beck and Call?"

"That's right, Frank. We should just..."

Helen was frowning when she heard Huub's diss and could not help trying to reason with Frank.

However, remembering her mistrust previously and seeing the confidence on Frank's face, she eventually stayed silent.
