Just then, the door burst open. The leading member, Skylar Patel, took one look at the scene and shouted in anger, "What are you doing?"

Nickson was stunned. Before he could respond, Skylar yanked him away and glanced at the powered-down equipment.

"Take him away," Skylar ordered, and his two subordinates moved toward Nickson.

Hearing that, Nickson attempted to explain. "We're all from the same department, buddy. Which division are you in? I'll check in with your boss. This is a restricted case, and you can't just step in without special authorization." Skylar glanced at him. "Don't talk to me so casually. We're not in the same group. From the way you're speaking, it sounds like you know every chief in the division."

With the Malones' support, Nickson wasn't worried about being investigated. A quick call to the right authorities would resolve everything.

"Of course I do. We might not be in the same department, but we work in related divisions. Are you here for inspections? I can give Mr. Zimet a call. This man is under investigation by the Malone family's order," Nickson said with a smile.

He handed over his phone, showing the Malones' contact information. In such situations, he was sure that mentioning their name would settle things in his favor.

However, Skylar merely turned around and ordered, "Do you hear that and have it on record? Go pay Mr. Zimet a visit."
