The Invincible Arthur Gardner

Chapter 81 - Building a Successful Team

Chapter 81 - Building a Successful Team

The following day, Arthur found himself in his new office, occupying the highest floor of the Brown

Company Building. Standing in a stylish dark blue suit, he gazed out of the large glass window that

overlooked the towering structures of Southlake City.

Only a few months prior, Arthur had entered this room to mop the floor and occasionally serve drinks to

the CEO who used to inhabit this space. But now, here he was, the sole proprietor of the distinguished NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.

enterprise, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride as he reflected on the remarkable

transformation of his life. A broad grin spread across his face.

"Without the help of an extraordinary system that suddenly appeared in my life, none of these things

would have been achievable for me.”

[Hold off your thanks for now, Host]

“System, for how long are you going to keep it a secret about who actually gave me this magical power,

and why me? Who is your creator?”

[Rather than grilling me with questions, Host, why don’t you spend your time conversing with the

beauties around you? Unfortunately, I don’t have the answer to that.]

There was a gentle knock on the door, and Arthur immediately invited whoever it was to enter his room.

To his surprise, a janitor of the same age as him, head bowed, stepped inside.

"Excuse me sir, I need to do a bit of mopping up here. I apologize for coming in while you were still

here; I was unaware you had arrived earlier than expected," he said.

Arthur had indeed arrived too soon, as Edna had asked the workers to rearrange the room to fit his

preferences more.

"Ah no, don't worry, just do your job," Arthur replied, recognizing the man as someone he had worked

with before in the same position.

The man then shuffled to the corner of the room and mopped slowly, desperately trying to obscure his

face from Arthur.

"That's you, isn't it, Naan?" Arthur asked, cautiously advancing toward the man.

Naan, hearing his name was called, immediately felt a wave of terror, his body quivering with fear. He

quickly stopped his work and anxiously turned to face Arthur, still keeping his head bowed.

"Yes, sir," Naan replied, sinking to his knees. "Please don't fire me, sir. I need this job."

For some reason, Naan felt very afraid of Arthur, but it happened because many of his friends had

been laid off from the company, and he didn't want to have a similar fate.

"No," Arthur replied quietly. "I only want to talk to you; I have no intention of firing you. How have you

been? Has your wife given birth yet? What about your child, is it a girl or a boy?"

Naan instantly felt as if his body had stiffened. Naan had never once spoken to Arthur before, even

though they had worked in the same position. However, Naan once told a coworker about his pregnant

wife, who also happened to have Arthur nearby at the time.

Naan was taken aback that Arthur still remembered their conversation and was even kind enough to

discuss it with him. Raising his face, he replied, "My wife is doing well, sir. We had a daughter."

"That's great," Arthur replied with a smile. "You'll be receiving benefits for the birth of your child soon. I

hope she stays healthy and grows up to be a beautiful and intelligent young lady."

"Sir, are you sure of what you're saying?" Naan asked, his voice tinged with a hint of uncertainty as

Arthur walked away.

"Yes, absolutely," Arthur replied casually, giving Naan a reassuring smile. "You have done a very good

job."

With these words, Arthur turned and headed back to his seat.

Arthur smiled, pleased to have been able to help someone like Naan. Although he had never chatted

with him before, Arthur knew Naan was a hard worker; he always did his job with great care and did

what he could to provide for his children and wife.

Although Naan hadn't made any big mistakes, he still felt intimidated when Arthur spoke to him. It's true

that some people don't realize their mistakes until they are warned, but there are also people like Naan

who do their best but still find themselves in difficult situations.

On that very day, Naan felt that, for the first time, he had met someone who was extremely wealthy yet

still spoke kindly to a poor person like himself. Glancing at Arthur, who had returned to his desk and

was looking busy again, he remarked, "I hope he is always kept safe. A good person like him should

receive a lot of support so that more people can benefit from his good deeds."

Not long after Naan had left the room, there was another knock on the door, and Edna, dressed in a

blue executive dress and a short skirt, entered the room. She smiled warmly at Arthur and asked,

"Boss, all the people you're going to interview have already arrived. Are you ready to do the interview

now? I can let them in when you're ready."

"Yes, sure!" Arthur answered enthusiastically, and then he gracefully settled onto the sofa situated in

the center of the room.

Edna then invited a man, who appeared to be around 24 years old, to enter the room. She sat to

Arthur's right while the man stood before them.

"Excuse me, sir," the man said politely.

"Please, take a seat," Arthur kindly replied, gesturing to the empty chair.

"Thank you for granting me this opportunity to interview today, sir. My name is Ronin," the man said, as

he settled into the chair.

Arthur had conducted a thorough investigation of Ronin's background and discovered that he had

worked at the Brown Company for three years, during which time he had achieved remarkable

accomplishments despite his low-level position.

Ronin had been overlooked for too long and had to obey any orders given to him without question. The

Brown Company's hierarchical structure prevented anyone from challenging the authority of their

superiors.

Arthur was determined to revolutionize the work environment and give everyone a chance to voice their

opinions. He therefore initiated a short, casual discussion with Ronin to learn more about his

experience at the Brown Company.

"Okay, Ronin, thank you for accepting my invitation for an interview," Arthur said. "I'll call you back in a

few hours."

Ronin then nodded and excused himself to leave the room.

"Next boss?" Edna asked.

"Sure," Arthur replied casually, "we'll finish this today."

A few moments later, another man who looked around 30 years old entered the room and flashed

Arthur a warm smile. He sat across from Arthur and the interview began.

Finally, after a few hours, all the interviews were finished.

"Are there any of them that you want to make as the CEO boss? Or, do you really intend to take over

this job for yourself?" Edna asked Arthur.

Arthur stood up confidently, "I will be CEO for a while. My aim is to establish a culture of success in this

company. But I won't be occupying this role for too long, since I will eventually be searching for

someone to take my place."

Edna smiled and nodded approvingly. "I think you've definitely made the right choice, boss."

"All right, now it's time for us to bring together all the people I've chosen for the vacant positions."

Arthur then walked out of the room and entered the grand meeting room, which was now filled with

unfamiliar faces. The event in the room was once again being broadcast live on the big screens

throughout the building.

"Will this be the next step that will determine the progress of this company?" Someone asked, curiosity

evident in his voice. "I'm really curious about the results."

"I'm very excited to see all the decisions that will be made by our new boss," another one added.
