Chapter 388 Declaration of War
Seeing that she couldn't stop Allen and Chance, she then turned her anger to Joey.
"It's you that sowed discord between Allen and Chance, you cruel woman. They were such good
brothers until you were here. It must be you that made them fight. What did you do! Say it!"
Paige believed that Allen as her son was well protected since his childhood. And Chance, her nephew,
who was raised up by her since he was four, was always a lovely boy. Chance was good at making her
laugh and kept sending gifts to her every festival. Those gifts were so luxurious and valuable that
distinguished her from other ladies. So she sometimes felt Chance was more caring than Allen.
While Allen was her natural child, in her deep heart, Paige still favored her child. So when it came to
the fight between Allen and Chance, she would choose to vent her anger on Joey instead of blaming
Allen.
Joey was worried about Allen. Every hit on Allen struck on her heart. She knew it was not the right time
to say anything. What Allen needed was just this fight. He had to release his anger otherwise he would NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.
crash. However, Paige didn't hide the dislike of her. Joey still remembered a moment ago when Paige
vowed to be nice to her. 'What a fickle and fake woman,' she thought.
Joey just checked whether Allen had got hurt, ignoring such shrew. What Paige said was bullshit to her.
Paige was totally infuriated. While before she had a cow, Martha came to grabbed her. Martha kindly
smiled to Paige and whispered in her ears to tell her the reason of the two men's fight.
Then Paige was shocked about the truth.
"Lillian's real father is Chance, not Allen. Goddamn. How could Yolanda do such thing? That bitch.
Jesus Christ, this unreasonable cunt."
The granddaughter that she had always loved and cared about turned out to be a fake one. Paige was
trembling with anger coupled with her bad health condition. At that moment, she lost her balance and
fell down to the ground.
The farce ended with Paige's faint. Her son Allen toke her and hurried to hospital.
Paige's husband, George, looked at Chance chillily. He seemed to have thought a lot and eventually
said, "From this moment on, you will not enter the Charles family's door again."
George soon left with this only message.
What he meant was from today on, the Charles family broke with Chance, along with the kindred
between George and Chance.
George would not forgive Chance like this if was not for the fact that Chance was the Smith's son and
he indeed had helped him do those unpresentable things on the sly.
"Inglorious bastard."
Martha directly spitted on Chance with disgust and grabbed Joey's arm and said, "Let's go. The
bastard will dirty my eyes."
Martha was not a typical Charles's daughter. She liked freedom. Therefore most of the time she lived
outside alone and rarely went home. She could hardly see her "niece" Lillian. To Chance, that man,
Martha only felt disgust. She knew Chance's eager-beaver behaviors meant to bully Lawrence which
displeased her severely.
George's coldness and Martha's abuse didn't have any effect on Chance at all. He stared at Joey with
his malevolent wicked eyes and said word by word, "It was my fault to underestimate you. But it's not
going to bring me down. Congratulations, you had got my attention."
He blamed everything on Joey and never considered repentance. That malicious look was so creepy
as if he was going to eat Joey alive. It was obviously he had planned a dirty trick.
"You don't need to look at me like that. You ruined everything on your own. You deserve it!"
Joey calmly stared at his eyes, righteous.
She didn't expect things would go like this and it was not her fault, she had a clear conscience. Now
she had no fear of Chance's anger. She and he were undoubtedly arch enemy since Chance together
with Yolanda put her on the operating table and brutally robbed her of her unborn child. It was also he
who conspired with George twisted the facts and drove her crazy. But…
