Chapter 29

I pushed the name "Moretti" from my mind completely.

On our wedding night, Grayson made sure I felt his passion, his expertise evident in every touch. I moaned into the night until exhaustion claimed me, leaving me breathless.
When morning came, I woke to an empty bed and a hastily scrawled note about an urgent business meeting in another city.
I spent the day visiting Grandma Blake at the hospital instead, bringing her a thoughtful gift. Her face lit up the moment she
saw me.
"That boy," she said, shaking her head. "You just got married, and he's already buried in work. He couldn't even come with you. Be patient with him, Isabella.”
"It's all right, Grandma. I have my own work to focus on," I assured her with a smile.
The door swung open, and a woman with piercing gray eyes entered. Her presence instantly shifted the room's atmosphere.
"What are you doing here?" Grandma Blake's voice carried a warning.
The woman didn't bother acknowledging the question.
"I came to check if Grayson was here," she said, her voice icy and dismissive. "He's my only child, yet he acts as if I don't exist as his mother. And now, I hear from his assistant, Elliot Ward, that he got married last weekend. Does he even remember he has a mother?"
Grandma Blake's expression hardened as she glanced at me apologetically.
Rising to my feet, I extended my hand, my voice steady and polite. "Hello! I'm Isabella Prescott, Grayson's wife."
"What?" she spat. Her sharp gaze raked over me, her lip curling in disdain.
"Mrs. Blake, how could you allow Grayson to marry this? I thought he was supposed to marry someone from the Mendez family. Instead, he ends up with... this cheap celebrity?"
The insult hung in the air like a slap. My lips pressed into a tight line as she turned to me, her anger intensifying. "You. Divorce my son immediately! It's obvious you're only after his money."
Her accusations stung, but I refused to falter. The commotion upset Grandma Blake, prompting a nurse to ask us to step outside.
In the hallway, the woman's tirade didn't let up.
"Grayson isn't giving me any money. He's cut off all my cards," the woman said, her tone dripping with entitlement. "Since you're my daughter-in-law, give me whatever you have."
I raised an eyebrow, refusing to back down. "Grayson hasn't mentioned you once. For all I know, you could be running a
scam."
"You little-" she sputtered, her face twisting with barely restrained fury.
I approached the sleek pink Porsche Grayson had gifted me on our wedding day.
It was a stunning car, but before I could appreciate it, a shrill voice cut through the parking lot.
"You gold-digging opportunist! Just wait until I tell Grayson what you are!" the woman shouted, her words sharp enough to
turn heads.

My temples pulsed with a growing headache. This hospital visit had revealed more about Grayson's past than I'd bargained
for.
From what I'd pieced together, Grayson is the illegitimate child of Mr. Blake. His two brothers, fully immersed in their work -one in logistics and the other in petroleum-hardly pay any attention to him. The Blake family, as a whole, sees him as a blemish on their reputation. Were it not for Grandma Blake, Grayson likely wouldn't have re-entered their lives at all.
The woman who introduced herself as Grayson's mother lingered in my thoughts-
I couldn't help but wonder about her relationship with him.
She had claimed that Grayson was an only child, which made me question any potential connection between him and Landon Moretti.
Ugh. This is all Tina's fault! I can only assume she had some kind of past with Grayson.
By the weekend, I had set my personal drama aside to focus on work. Cassie and I stood in front of a camera for Bloomify's latest promotion, ready to go live on a popular social media app. I'd heard live-selling events could be wildly effective, but I didn't anticipate the buzz our appearance would generate.
"Is that my goddess Cassie on this livestream?"
"Wow, their skin is glowing! If that's the result of using Bloomify, I'm buying ten sets!"
"Isabella's complexion is flawless-absolutely radiant!"
The comments poured in, a mix of admiration and excitement. Seeing Cassie, a top-tier model with a notoriously private lifestyle, alongside me in a casual setting was a rare treat for viewers.
Orders poured in alongside virtual gifts from enthusiastic viewers.noveldrama
One gift, in particular, stood out—a massive $10,000 contribution from a user named "TyrantPanda'. I didn't need confirmation to know it was Grayson. Even miles away, he found ways to show his support, quiet but unmistakable.
Then I spotted the user 'EvanMonroe', who had also gifted a thousand dollars to support his sister. I also noticed Gabriel's dummy account in the comment section. The two-hour session flew by as we fielded endless questions. By the end, we'd sold through half our inventory, with orders flowing in from across the country.
In just one night, I managed to sell half of Bloomify's stock. I couldn't wait to get that 8.5% commission.
"Issa, this is incredible!" Sophia beamed.
"We're shocked by the outcome! To be honest, we only expected to sell about 3,000 items at most," someone from the marketing team added.
"You're going to be busy," I said. "Cassie and I will do another live session on Thursday. Let's see how things go over the next five days."
The team readily agreed though they knew they faced long hours processing and shipping orders.
That first night, I didn't lose out-Bloomify and I had agreed that Cassie and I would keep all the gifts we received since we wouldn't be earning a commission.
The night had proved more profitable than I'd imagined.

"Boss, Mrs. Blake is doing a live selling session," Elliot reported, setting down a fresh stack of documents.

"Mrs. Blake who?" Grayson asked, a hint of confusion in his voice. Was Elliot referring to his brother's wife or their mother, the one who had abused him during his childhood?
"I mean your wife, boss," Elliot clarified.
Grayson froze. Despite drowning in work, he'd created an account just to watch Isabella's stream. His expression softened as she thanked viewers, playfully sending heart signs to her audience.
Intrigued, he figured out how to send gifts to the live sellers and sent $10,000, eager to receive more of those heart signs. Just as he was getting into it, another knock interrupted him.
"Boss, Tina Montgomery is here."
Grayson quickly closed the app, reverting to his usual cold demeanor.
The guards escorted Tina in like they were delivering prey to a predator...
