Chapter 35
Chapter 35
Melvin was totally drunk last night.
Jocelyn had no interest in reasoning with a drunk. She just let him cling to her, knowing that once his buzz wore off, he’d simmer down naturally.
Deep down, she could sense that Melvin was a bit obsessive. Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
She wasn’t sure if his love was true, but like he said, he wouldn’t let her go without his consent.
Sometimes she even wondered if he’d crash her wedding if she married someone else.
Melvin definitely had a possessive streak. Sometimes he acted like he didn’t care about her, and other times he came
on super strong.
But he never said he loved her.
It took a while, but eventually, Jocelyn felt Melvin’s emotions stabilize. Yet, his grip didn’t loosen; he was still holding her tight
“Wanna sip some water?” Jocelyn asked softly, patting his back.
At her words, his grip tightened like a startled bird, scared she might fly away.
Jocelyn stayed quiet, silently waiting for him to let go.
It wasn’t until his phone buzzed that he finally moved.
He didn’t answer though.
The phone went silent, then buzzed again.
Jocelyn had a hunch about who might be calling at this hour. Since he came with Willow, it wasn’t a stretch to guess that maybe he and Willow were an item.
When the phone rang a third time, Melvin finally pulled out his phone, and answered the call.
“Melvin, where are you?” Willow’s anxious voice came through.
Jocelyn turned her head away, she was able to hear Willow’s voice because it was so quiet.
“What’s up?” Melvin asked.
Jocelyn tried to leave, but Melvin grabbed her hand, pushed her against the wall, coming up to her and kissing her on the lips.
Jocelyn’s eyes widened. How could he do this?
Wasn’t he worried Willow might hear?
“I went to your room looking for you. You weren’t there. You drank so much tonight, and I’m worried,” Willow continued, “Where are you? I’ll come find you.”
“Don’t.” Melvin hung up without another word and turned off his phone.
He tossed the phone carelessly onto the couch, then cupped Jocelyn’s face, kissing her lips tenderly.
Jocelyn put her hands against his chest, pushing him away, “What’s the point of this back-and-forth?”
“You’re the one who ditched me.” Melvin’s fingers gently traced her swollen lips, a hint of hurt in his puppy-dog eyes. “But I still want you.”
Hearing hirm lay it out so bluntly made her heart race
Her breathing grew erratic, her mind in turmoil but still clinging to some semblance of sanity. “But you and Willow…”
“You were my first.” Melvin held her face, their foreheads touching, breath mingling. “I only want you.”
Jocelyn had to admit those words thrilled her, easily breaching her feigned indifference like they were nothing.
Even if they were just words of passion meant to release desire, she was all for it.
“I don’t like Willow, Jocelyn took the chance to push her luck.
“If you don’t like her, don’t see her,” Melvin kissed the tip of her nose.
“I don’t want you to see her.”
“She’s signed a contract with my company,” Melvin’s hands were already exploring her waist, his breathing heavy. “She’s just a business partner.”
His touch was like a branding iron, scorching her skin, boiling her blood.
Jocelyn maintained her wits amid his teasing. “But she wants you…”
“I’m yours, Melvin swallowed, his kisses trailing to the corner of her lips, licking gently, tenderly, and irresistibly.
Jocelyn was thrown into a whirlwind of desire, enduring his seduction, her inner turmoil raging.
If things kept going this way, wouldn’t all her previous efforts be in vain? Everything would just reset.
Melvin was relentless, and Jocelyn was never his match. Torn between resistance and pleasure, she ultimately lost to
him.
Because her heart was still with him.
At night, the sea breeze flirted with the curtains, dancing like the supple waist of a woman, full of grace and allure.
Heavy and restrained breaths mingled, causing flushed faces and racing hearts. The hotel bed was sturdy but still uttered cautious, muffled creaks.
Maybe it was the long separation, or perhaps a deep thirst, but there was a desperation to fill the void in one go.
Only when the horizon began to glow with the hint of dawn, and the towering palm trees outside revealed their silhouettes, did Jocelyn finally drift off to sleep.
Melvin held her, greedily savoring the moment.
Only he knew how addicted he was to her.
It was the kind of addiction that tormented him when he didn’t touch her, and once he did, he couldn’t stop, as if trying to drain himself dry.
The void of the past few weeks was finally being replenished tonight.
Melvin held the person in his arms comfortably and contentedly, closing his eyes too.
Suddenly, Jocelyn’s phone on the nightstand buzzed twice. Melvin’s eyes shot open. It was a Facebook message from someone named Harrison, asking if she wanted to have breakfast together.
Melvin thought of the man from last night who seemed to hit it off with Jocelyn. He seemed polished, gentlemanly, and well-mannered. She looked happy with him. Most importantly, they looked like a perfect match.
Had he not been there, would sparks have flown between them? Would she no longer have room for him when she got back?
That thought darkened Melvin’s gaze.
He knew the password of Jocelyn’s phone and had never snooped before, but now he punched it in and replied to the guy that she was still sleeping.
After sending the message, Melvin stared at the name, hovering over the ‘delete contact’ option, but in the end, he backed out.
He set the phone back in place and rolled over to fiercely kiss Jocelyn’s swollen lips.
There was a spot he had bitten the night before, now looking like a beauty mark
Perhaps his movement was too abrupt, for Jocelyn moaned in her sleep, her eyes never opening.
1 weren’t for the fact that she was exhausted, he swore he vidi take her all over again.
Jocelyn slept till noon. When she opened her eyes and saw Melvin’s sleeping face, she seemed to remember their night of madness and folly.
Her face felt slightly warm; she just couldn’t seem to climb out of the hole he had dug for her.
Slowly, she reached out and gently traced the contours of his face.
People say love at first sight is just a surge of hormones, and for her, he was definitely a hormone surge.
Our senses always manage to feed the most crucial info to our brains in a flash, which is why a pretty face always turns heads instantly.
Jocelyn was no saint. She had a thing for good-looking guys. So, when it came to seizing the moment, she didn’t
hesitate
Her finger reached his lips. They were so well-shaped, with clear lines, thin yet sensual. They say people with thin lips are often heartless. But Jocelyn fell for a guy just like that.
Call him heartless, yet he seemed quite devoted to her.
Call him disloyal, but he never did anything unrighteous to her.
She didn’t know what kind of mess she’d be in if she fell any deeper, but she just couldn’t let go. He was like a thorn in her heart, impossible to remove, impossible to ignore. It just stuck there, constantly reminding her he existed.
Suddenly, he took her finger into his mouth. Her fingertips tingled fiercely; she tried to pull away, but he held on even tighter.
Jocelyn’s face grew even redder, and she whispered, “Let go.”
But the words came out so soft and sultry, lacking strength and yet somehow coquettish.
Melvin opened his eyes and drew her finger deeper into his mouth with a strong pull.
Jocelyn felt electrified, her heartbeat racing, too embarrassed to even look at him.
