Vengeful Hearts Return Novel by Susan Clyde

Chapter 176

Dylan glared at Josh with a frown, his gaze like an ice blade cutting into Josh and making him tremble. “Give me!” he roared.

Josh had grown up with Dylan. Other than what had happened seven years ago, he had never seen Dylan like this. He was shocked when meeting Dylan’s bloodshot eyes.

“Give me Audrey’s number. I’ll call her, Josh said, pursing his lips. He knew it was best for the couple to talk things out. Drinking wouldn’t make Dylan feel better.

Dylan did not say anything. He glanced at Josh indifferently, snatched the glass from him, and poured the liquor into his mouth.

The spicy, cold liquid flowed down Dylan’s throat, but instead of making him feel better, it intensified his depression. Dylan poured himself another glass.

Seeing Dylan keep drinking like crazy, Josh let the others leave first. Despite this, some people still recorded a short video and posted it on Instagram

There were not so many people in the upper–class society, and the man in the video was a well–known figure. So a while later, Audrey received a video from Troy.

[Where did you get it?] Audrey texted Troy. She had just finished a video call with Lucas and Brian and hadn’t gone to sleep yet. Feeling a bit off, she watched the video indifferently and frowned.

Troy replied: [I saw it on Instagram. Did you two fight? I said he’s not right for you. I’ll set you up with some more outstanding men another day. His words were full of disdain for Dylan.

Audrey did not reply. She watched the video repeatedly. In it, the man with bloodshot eyes and a gloomy face was drinking non–stop.

Before Audrey could exit the video interface, her phone rang. She glanced at it before picking it up.

“Hello! Audrey, it’s Josh. Dylan got drunk. Can you come to pick him up?”

Audrey’s delicate face was stern and there was a hint of anger flickering in her eyes. She said indifferently, Josh, you called the wrong person. What’s that got to do with me? If Mr. Clifford likes to drink, just drink with him.” Before Josh could say anything more, Audrey hung up.

Josh looked at the phone and cursed, “Damn it!” He had used Dylan’s phone to make the call and turned on the speaker so that Dylan could hear it. However, he did not expect Audrey to be so heartless. From her tone, he could tell she was very angry.

Josh glanced at Dylan and saw that he was no longer gulping down the liquor. Instead, he was leaning quietly against the sofa with his head lowered.

“I gotta go.” A few seconds later, Dylan stood up. Because he had drunk too much and stood up too quickly, he felt a little dizzy. After a moment, he managed to steady himself and walked out of the VIP room.

Josh was stunned. “Gosh! What’s wrong with Dylan? Why is he so domicile in front of that woman?”

He had tried so hard but couldn’t stop Dylan from drinking. However, after the call, Dylan immediately stopped drinking and went home. Was he so afraid of that woman?

“Are you alright? Do you need my driver to send you home?” Josh caught up with Dylan, stuffed the phone back into his hand. and asked worriedly.

“No need,” Dylan said, compressing his lips.

“In ladale City, drunk driving is illegal. Come on, let my driver send you back. I can’t afford it if something happens to you!” Josh was worried that if Dylan drove after drinking so much alcohol, he might end up in a serious car accident.

Dylan did not refuse him this time. After getting into the car, Dylan held his phone and closed his eyes to nap in the backseat. When the car drove into the Hernandez residence, the driver said, “Mr. Clifford, we’re here.”

Dylan opened his eyes, a cold glint flashing in them. He got out of the car and stood at the door until the smell of alcohol dissipated a little. Then, he opened the door and entered.

The light in the villa was dim, with only the floor lamp in the living room on Dylan paused for a moment before walking upstairs. He walked straight to the master bedroom. The door was unlocked. He twisted the handle slightly, and it opened. In the darkness, he smelled the fresh fragrance of a woman, making the usual cold, lonely atmosphere feel warm and soft.

Dylan’s heart was racing faster. He walked up to the bed and hugged the woman on the bed together with the blanket.

Audrey was not asleep yet. After watching the video, she recalled what had happened before and felt extremely upset. She opened her eyes when she heard the sound of the engine coming from downstairs. Smelling a fresh wood fragrance mixed with the strong smell of alcohol, she frowned and was about to speak, but then she felt a drop of burning liquid fall on her neck.

“Honey, are you abandoning me again?” Dylan murmured in a hoarse voice, his face buried in Audrey’s neck.

“Dylan, don’t be childish! Go back to your room, take a shower, and go to bed. Don’t make a scene here!”

Audrey struggled in disgust and tried to push the Dylan away. However, the drunk man was like a lunatic. He lowered his head and kissed her hard.

Audrey’s hands were wrapped in the blanket and could not move. She could do nothing but glare at Dylan

Dylan was looking at her, his bloodshot eyes devoid of light, like two bottomless pits ready to pull Audrey in.

Meeting Audrey’s eyes, Dylan became even more frantic. He kissed her fiercely as if he wanted to pull her down with him until they both fell together.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

When he felt the person in his arms was no longer struggling. Dylan finally became gentle as if he was about to melt into the soft body in his arms.

Dylan was no longer satisfied with a kiss. He said, his eyes burning with desire, “Honey, I want you!”

Audrey came to her senses. Her limpid eyes were shining seductively and the corners of her eyes were red from the kiss, making her look like a prach inviting people to pick
