Whispers Of Betrayal (Anastasia and Alastor)

Chapter 170

Chapter 170

In Hork General Hospital, Anastasia ran into the ward and looked at Amanda nervously. “How is he?”

“His condition just stabilized, but he may be paralyzed in bed in the future. He’ll need to rely on a wheelchair to move around.” Amanda sighed.

Anastasia breathed a sigh of relief and smiled ironically. “This is retribution.”

She wanted him to live.

He couldn’t die.

He didn’t deserve to die.

“Annie, did your father…mistreat you before?” Amanda asked in a low voice. “Where is your mother?”

Anastasia sat on the bench and smiled. “My mom is already dead. Cancer.”

“I’m sorry…” Amanda sighed.

“He didn’t raise me for a day but ruined my life.” Anastasia looked at Zeke, who was lying on the hospital bed helplessly… “This is especially after he found Meredith. I haven’t had a good day since then.”

Amanda sighed. “It would be good if your mother were still alive. Mothers can’t bear to let their daughters suffer.”

Anastasia’s eyes turned red. “Yeah. When my mom left, she wanted to take me with her.”

Amanda looked at Anastasia in shock.

“She often complained that she was trapped in life because of me. If it weren’t for me, she would have divorced Zeke long ago. However, it was because of me that she didn’t. She said I was a burden and a dead weight for her, telling me it would be great if I hadn’t been born. However, she also said she was worried about me before her death, wanting to take me with her. Do you think she loves me?” Anastasia looked at Amanda and asked in a choked voice. Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

It seemed that Anastasia wanted to seek comfort.

Amanda looked at Anastasia in shock. “No mother wouldn’t love their daughter. Perhaps….the reality drove her crazy. Just like me. I would have retired at retirement if I had a harmonious family and children who loved me. I wouldn’t have to work so hard as a caretaker,” Amanda answered after a long time.

This was life. Different people would lead a different life. Nobody would have the same life as others.

Everyone had their own helplessness and pain.

“If I can return to my mother’s stomach, I hope she’ll abort to stop me from being born. Since she gave birth to me, why can’t she love me…” Anastasia smiled ironically. “They made me feel that my existence is wrong and that I’m a sinner by living.”

“Annie, you can’t think like that. There are still many beautiful things in this world that deserve your attention. No one can accompany you for the rest of your life. Your husband may divorce you, and your children will start a family or business. You are the only one who can accompany you through life,” Amanda whispered.

Anastasia nodded. “You’re right.”

The world was like this. One would come to the world quickly and leave the same way.

“We only live for a few decades. You don’t need to be so troubled if you live more selfishly. There’s no need to care so much. You can be with whoever makes you happy and comfortable. Don’t be afraid of divorce. I’m also divorced, yet I’m living well right now,” Amanda comforted Anastasia with a smile.

Anastasia was silent for a long time.

“Is that really the case? Will it be okay as long as I’m happy?” she wondered.

“Ah! Armie… Annie…”

In the ward, Zeke woke up. Zeke could make sounds and call names now.

Anastasia stood by the bed and helped him wash his hands. “You have to live on.”

Zeke struggled to call her name, but Anastasia didn’t want to talk to him anymore.

“Annie… Annie…”

Seeing Anastasia leaving, Zeke was still sobbing. The scene seemed rather sad.

Anastasia stopped and looked back at Zeke. “Thank you for giving me life and letting me experience such worst things.” Anastasia bowed deeply to Zeke. “It’s not bad being human. However, I’d rather not live as one in my next life.”
