Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change?

Chapter 1065

"Checked out already?"

Gilbert was left hanging, and it showed on his face. "When did this happen?"

The bodyguard continued, "I got in touch with Ms. Gomez's security. They said Ms. Gomez went to the Harrison Group to see you."

What?

Gilbert's eyes widened, a spark of surprise and excitement igniting within them. Sherilyn actually went to find him?

Why hadn't she told him?

Was she planning a surprise?

In an instant, Gilbert's frustration evaporated, replaced by sheer joy. He turned on his heel and exited the hotel. "Take me back to Sunhaven!"

Leaving the Harrison Group, Sherilyn was on her way back to Blue Haven when she got a call from Blake.

"Hey, Blake... Sure, I'll be there soon."

After hanging up, Sherilyn instructed the driver, "Turn around, I need to stop by the studio."

"Yes, Ms. Gomez."

From the passenger seat, Candida turned to look at her.

"Ms. Gomez, Mr. Nine's bodyguard called earlier. Mr. Nine went to Ironforge to pick you up, but you weren't there."

"What?" Sherilyn was taken aback.

He wasn't at the Harrison Group; he went to Ironforge?

"And now?" she asked.

"Yes," Candida nodded. "I'll inform Mr. Charles to let Mr. Nine know, so he doesn't worry when he doesn't find you at Blue Haven." "Okay."

Sherilyn agreed. She had intended to surprise him, but it seemed fate had other plans, leading to a bit of a mix-up. Better not to complicate things further.

Unfortunately, Gilbert hadn't received the update.

Candida didn't know that Charles wasn't with Gilbert at the moment; he was handling other engagements for him.

It was a busy scene, and by the time Charles checked his phone, Gilbert was already at the South Building entrance of Blue Haven.

"Hello."

Gilbert answered, seeing it was Charles calling.

"Mr. Gilbert," Charles said hurriedly, "Have you seen Sherilyn yet?"

"Not yet..." Gilbert hesitated. "I'm at the entrance, about to go in through the south gate..."

He realized something was off. "Why do you ask?"

"Mr. Gilbert Charles apologized, "Sherilyn isn't at Blue Haven!noveldrama

Candida sent me a message, which I just saw... Blake called her in and she's at the studio."

"Understood."

Gilbert frowned and ended the call.

The car had already pulled through the south gate, with the South Building looming ahead.

He suddenly instructed the driver, "Turn around!"

He was going to pick Sherilyn up!

Today was just one of those days. Each time he rushed to her, they missed each other by just a hair, always a moment too late.

But the more it happened, the stronger his desire to see her became!

He couldn't just sit and wait; he had to go bring her back!

At the studio.

Blake had called Sherilyn in to discuss her upcoming work schedule.

"I've got a few scripts on hand right now. Mr. Marshall and I haven't decided which one you should take. Here take them home and have a read, start preparing..."

The current project she was working on was primarily focused on the male lead, even though she was the female lead. It was more of a second billing scenario, with her role not being too demanding.

Blake continued, "Mr. Marshall and I think it's time for you to take the lead on something bigger..."

After all, she had already starred in a couple of films and garnered quite a bit of popularity.

"What you need now is a blockbuster hit."

"I understand."

Sherilyn gathered the scripts Blake handed over. "I'll read them thoroughly."

Blake was pleased with her humility. It was rare for someone with Mr. Nine's backing to stay so grounded and not let success go to their head. Reflecting on this, Blake brought up another matter.

"Mr. Marshall and I arranged for you not to go to the set today. We're taking you to a gathering tonight, just some people from the industry." Noticing her apprehension, he reassured her with a smile, "Don't worry, it's just to meet people and get to know some faces. No pressure, really."
