Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1465

Her faint gaze swept him from head to toe before Waverly shook her head.

"Who was the one that invented fashionable dresses for banquets? Look at the women's dress. The thin clothing, the accessories, and the bare exposed arms, legs, and backs. Look at what nice clothes you' re wearing! Thin suits during the summer, thick suits during the winter. Underneath the clothes, you can also wear up to three or four layers of thermal wear and pants! Just how biased the designers are!"

It happened that the man's body was as warm as a stove. He had never been afraid of the cold, while she was covered in goosebumps.

Was that all her thoughts running wild underneath the aggrieved little eyes?

"Ha ha. Are you wrapping a plastic wrap around yourself? Wearing up to three or four layers of thermal wear?"

Noticing her slightly shivering, Wyatt went up and pushed her to one side. Helping her block the wind, he raised his hand to warm her fair arm at the same time.

"You idiot! No one tied you up!"

Since she felt uncomfortable facing the wind, couldn't she move to another seat?

In reality, Waverly had thought of switching seats, but she had failed to make a move. To be honest, Wyatt's tiny gesture pleased her. Feeling the chill on her fingertips holding her wine glass, she set it aside and rubbed her hands together before selecting an unimpressive spot to shove them into the pockets of his open suit. As she secretly absorbed the warmth, the corners of her lips curled, yet she foolishly assumed Wyatt not to notice and deliberately diverted his attention by saying.

"It's lively. There's a wishing tree over there, decorated with flashing ornaments and small gifts. It's probably meant for kids since it's so childish. Besides, Christmas is over! How uncreative!"

"Ah, the platform is so well decorated. Is there any ongoing activity? There are so many veils..."

Talking nonstop, her curious gaze swept across her surroundings. After her hands felt warm, she could feel her body warming. As soon as Waverly withdrew her eyes, she saw Wyatt fixing his gleaming eyes on her as if he understood it all. Feeling guilty, Waverly withdrew her hands, only then to realize that her actions were somewhat overboard. Without realizing it, a faint red glow crept up her cheeks.

Back during the winter when she was a child, she loved to stick her hands into her brother's pocket or under his armpit to warm them. Although her brother would often roll his eyes at her, she would feign ignorance and pretend not to see anything.

When she had gotten into a relationship, the most popular thing couples would do during winter was to hold hands and share a pair of gloves. She had once fantasized about Franklin holding her small hand and wrapping it in a thick man's leather glove as the two of them strolled in the snow. Unfortunately, it was nothing more than a thought. She dared not mention it to him, for fear of him reprimanding the childish her. After all, such a scene seemed to only exist between young boys and girls getting into a relationship on campus!

It was why up till right then, the scene remained in her mind! That was all!

Right then, Wyatt's gaze focused on her sent her heart palpitating. She felt so embarrassed that she had been seen through. Her heart pounded as though it had gotten on a dear that ran wild...

Her reaction proved Wyatt's conclusion toward her, which was her being foolish and would only focus on the outlook.

Which was why as he stared at her right that moment, apart from being instinctively attracted and pleased, a strange thought came to Wyatt's mind for the first time.

Why did he always feel as though she was simple and innocent in relationships? Hadn't she, however, get married to more than one husband? One of which was who she had deeply fallen in love with. How was that possible?

At the thought of how she used to be with more than one man with countless others coveting her, Wyatt instantly felt uncomfortable all over!

Before he could respond, a waiter came over.

"Mr. Johnson, we couldn't find the white fur shawl you asked for in our store. This down jacket is the best white model we can offer!"

"All right. Thank you!"

Wyatt reached out and took it over before draping it around Waverly's shoulders. It was not realistic to wear a coat to social engagement parties, but shawls were seen everywhere.

It was when they had first entered the hall that he had accidentally caught a glimpse of a woman in the hall wearing one, so he ordered the attendant to send one over. The waiter was professional in providing services by cutting the price tag off for her while lifting the tray.

A soft warmth poured into her body. Waverly felt comfortable all over sensing the shawl glide from her shoulders around from the back to the front. A lazy breeze, not only did warm her up, but it also turned her all the more delicate like that of the accessory of an ancient imperial concubine. Elbow-length, it was not only comfortable but was equally warm, a right match to her clothes. After all, it was not an important business party, so Waverly was not as afraid. Her heart seemed to be struck once more. The moment she raised her gaze, she gave Wyatt a bright and enchanting smile.noveldrama

"When did you get it? Why don't I know anything?! Thank you!"

She was no different from a snake and was afraid of the cold. In winter, she wanted nothing more than to hibernate in bed, especially when that year's winter turned out to be exceptionally chilly.

Wyatt held her hand, his arms resting on her shoulders as he answered with a faint smile, "Would you like a dance?"

"Sure!"

It was probably the first time Waverly handed herself to him without hesitation. On the dance floor, they moved around in each other's embrace. In the end, the two's bodies were almost kneaded into a ball as if they were passionately glued together!

It was, after all, a public occasion. No matter how moved they were, Wyatt could restrain himself. As the two of them slowly turned around, they left a beautiful picture behind that could stir others' envy.

Leaving the dance floor, they talked and laughed as if they had officially integrated into the party. Waverly was well aware of the fact that she wasn't as skilled when it came to playing chess and sipping tea, so

she led Wyatt to the amusemennet

area on the other side where they set up games of hoops. Although she wasn't fond of the gifts rewarded, she longed to have fun. Pulling her shawl and shoving it into Wyatt's arms, she bought red hoops. It wasn't cheap and required an extra charge of 50 dollar per hoop. Since she bought 20 hoops, it all added up to a thousand dollars.

By the time she returned, Waverly felt somewhat distressed, but she had no

choice but to compromise with the price charged by the high-grade hotel. Moreover, such minigames that used to be set up on the streets had completely disappeared without a trace.

Fortunately, the awards displayed

were of high quality, including lipsticks of well-known brands, male

lighters, and ties, as well as wallets and golden necklaces placed on specific stands. They were

showcased on different heights net

seemingly stable. The most eye- catching item on display was a transparent crystal ball, seemingly functioning as a decoration. Inside, there was a pair of delicate dolls. A girl sat on a stone under a tree in a white dress. A boy knelt on the ground, nearby which placed a pink diamond. It was marked to weigh 1.25 carat, which was another way of saying I Love You"!

Even if the diamond was of average quality, it would cost at least 20,000 dollars! There was an introduction on the instruction board, revealing the crystal ball to have a market value of 99,999 dollars. It was evident that the diamond was the best gift there was to offer!

After scanning the cabinet, Waverly came to realize that the cheapest item would be the lighters and lipsticks which cost around two hundred dollars each.

As such, it seemed that the hoops were not considered too expensive! Overwhelmed with excitement, she turned around and fixed her eyes on the target. It was a small bright red leather bag. Taking a second glance at the bucket- sized bag, Waverly noticed that it seemed to be worth seven hundred dollars, which could make up for the price of the hoops. Plus, the red bag was eye- catching in contrast to the white ground with its design being narrow on top and wide on the bottom. "I think I could manage to hook it in no time." With the thought in mind, Waverly went straight for the bag.

She focused on the bag only and soon wasted all the twenty hoops. Soon, a bright red flower blooming on the white ground sat the bag in the middle, surrounded by red hoops. The nearest one leaned against the bag. With her eyes widened, Waverly was in disbelief.

How was it possible?

How could she not be able to hook the bag although she had altered her angle and recalculated several times?

Pursing her lips, Waverly wasn't willing to give up, so she turned around and went

to buy another 20 green hoops. By the time she returned, the venue was almost cleaned. Seeing the person in front of her leaving the stall with lipstick and a wallet, she grew increasingly frustrated. After taking a deep breath, she threw two hoops out to get used to the feeling before aiming for the bag once more. The best she did was to be able to hook half a bag, which sprung out before settling down. After throwing the last two hoops, Waverly screamed.

"I got it! I got it!"

As her voice faded away, her lips pouted the second she watched as the hoop

rolled out.

"Alas... Alas..."

Pissed, she turned around, stomping towards the counter, and purchased another 20 hoops. Right then, she chose the black hoops.

It was evident how she was determined to lay her hands on the bag as she shrieked and squealed. As the spectators watched on, they would burst out laughing from time to time. Shaking his head, Wyatt reached out to take her hand when she was left with the last few hoops.

He tried one of them to familiarize himself with the touch. The casual throw of the

second hoop hooked onto the bag Waverly had spent more than 50 hoops yet failed to win over.

"Wow! You' ve succeeded! Wyatt, you're amazing!"

Tugging at Wyatt's sleeve, Waverly was so excited that she could barely hold

herself back from hopping around. "Boss, give it to me! Ha, it's within my grasp, isn't it?!"

The first reward. Waverly was so delighted that she had forgotten about the fact that she wasn't the one that had won the prize over!

Soon, the person in charge withdrew a bag from a box and handed it to her! Right

then, Wyatt turned to ask, "What else do you want?"

The anger in her stomach was still pent up. Waverly pointed at the most expensive crystal ball and demanded, "That! If you can win it over, we'll stop!"

With her words, Wyatt was relieved. The most expensive prize was, of course, the furthest. The item was placed in an awkward position with the wind blowing right onto the item. Wyatt could somewhat get the hang of it only after he had tried out two hoops. Withdrawing another hoop he adjusted his position, and threw it out, exactly onto the crystal. Before the crowd could burst out exclaiming, the last hoop thrown out barely overlapped on the same crystal ball. Time froze. After a brief

inc

silence, warm applause broke out. Upon recovering to her senses, Waverly shifted her disbelief gaze to

look at the man beside her with admiration brimming in her eyes. Before she could make a sound,

however, the light on the scene dimmed all of a sudden before a loud male voice rang out in the hall.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the most exciting moment has come..."
