Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 155

The snowflakes landed on Janice's face, their icy chill seeping into her skin.

She lowered her gaze, keeping her voice calm and emotionless. "Hold on. I need to contact the bank. I can't transfer such a large amount myself."

"Alright. I'll wait for your call."

There was an unmistakable smirk in Simon's tone as if he had her completely under his control.

The moment she hung up, Janice's grip on her phone tightened so hard that her knuckles turned white. It was as if Simon was the phone itself.

Next to her, Jacob had heard everything, and his expression darkened. "Janice, don't play along. Let's have someone look into it first."

Of course, she wasn't about to let Simon have his way.

She turned around and called her secretary. "Make me a transfer slip. Mark it as a scheduled payment for tomorrow."

Her secretary didn't ask any questions and immediately got to work.

Simon had been toying with her for far too long. She had always swallowed her anger before, but she wouldn't let him walk away unscathed this time.

After ten minutes, her secretary sent her the fake transfer slip. It was flawless, real enough to fool anyone.

Janice forwarded it directly to Simon and then called him.

"The amount is too large, so it'll be processed overnight. Check your messages."

When he saw the transfer slip, Simon's heart pounded wildly. A mix of excitement and envy surged through him.

It was five million dollars!

He was excited because she was an idiot for helping him.

He also felt envious because there was no way she earned this money herself. Edward must have given it to her!

Five million dollars could be considered as the price she paid for sleeping with another man. Simon felt disgusted just thinking about it.

"Got it," he muttered.

"Where were my parents' graves relocated to?" Janice asked, getting back on topic.

Simon's tone was dismissive. "I don't remember the exact address. Just call the cemetery manager. I have other things to deal with."

There it was again...noveldrama

Simon's habit of running away after using someone. He hadn't changed at all!

A flicker of malice crossed Janice's eyes as she said sweetly, "Simon, if that's how you're going to handle things, I can always contact the bank and cancel the transfer."

"Don't!" Panic shot through Simon's voice. "I really do have things to deal with. It's almost New Year's, and my mother has been craving imported seafood. You used to take care of this stuff. I wouldn't even know where to start."

As if that weren't enough, he added, "How about this? You buy the seafood for her, and while you're at it, send her a gift. If my mom's in a good mood, I'll have time to take you to the cemetery. You understand, don't you, Janice?"

The audacity...

Janice resisted the overwhelming urge to curse him out. But she hadn't finished her game yet, so she endured.

"Oh, I see," she replied lazily.

"In that case, I guess I'll visit next year. There's no rush. As for the money, I'll send

it once I see my parents' graves."

"Wait, don't hang up!" Simon shouted anxiously.

"They were moved to the cemetery across the bridge!"

The second she got her answer, Janice didn't waste another word.

She turned to Jacob, and they went to the location together.

...

Helena rushed over at the sound of Simon's shouts. "What's wrong?" Simon slammed his phone onto the table. "She threatened me." "Janice?" Helena's face twisted. "How did she threaten you?"

"If I didn't tell her where her parents' graves were moved, she wasn't going to transfer the money. And on top of that, she refused to send you a gift or buy you seafood. I told her to show you some respect and she ignored me completely!"

Helena burned with anger. "How dare she disrespect me? That ungrateful bitch! If

she wants to get back together with you, I'll make sure she suffers!"

But right now, Simon had no time to think about that. All he cared about was the money arriving tomorrow.

If it didn't, those seamstresses would come knocking again, and word would get out that Refined Threads Co. was collapsing!
