Living With My Lady Boss

Chapter 2299

"Yeah,” the man said, crossing his legs and nodding. "Arsi mentioned that you're quite the driver. Are you interested in joining our team?"

Wilbur responded, "Forming a racing team isn't cheap. Arsi and I are just regular guys. You sure that's not a problem?"

"Of course not."

The man shrugged and continued, "But we have one condition. You need to pass our test and earn an 'A' grade. This will prove your skills, and only then will we allow you to join our team."

Hearing this, Wilbur had not even had the chance to reply before Arsi eagerly chimed in, "Don't worry, Ariel. Wilbur's driving skills far surpass mine."

"Let's talk privately."

Wilbur grabbed Arsi and led him outside the office. Once they were outside, he asked, “Have you checked these guys? They've been gone for two months and just showed up today?"

Arsi reassured him, "Don't worry, Wilbur. They've all passed the genetic scanner tests. They're just like us normal people. But their conditions might be a bit tough. Wilbur, are you sure you can get an 'A' grade?"

"We'll discuss that later. What about the town's power system? I mentioned it to you this afternoon. How's that going?"

"Rest easy, Wilbur. The town's power system has a dual setup. It's unlikely to cut out unless there's a serious issue."

Arsi patted Wilbur on the shoulder, easing his tension. Wilbur realized he might have been overly anxious and apologized, "Sorry, maybe I'm a bit on edge."

"It's all good."noveldrama

Arsi continued, “Joining their team would be amazing. We could practice with their cars. They'll be staying in Diseya for the next month. If we get in, we can enjoy some thrilling drives."

Wilbur was not particularly interested in Ferraris, but Arsi clearly was. Even though Arsi was just a regular guy, his passion for racing was undeniable. Ferraris, with their high fuel consumption, were expensive to maintain. Just one afternoon drive had cost Arsi half a month's salary. If someone else covered the fuel and maintenance costs, Arsi could drive freely. It was an opportunity that had finally presented itself.

Many car enthusiasts dreamed of becoming racers, but most people never got the chance. Some might never even sit in a luxury car. Arsi was one of those people. Wilbur felt a pang of sympathy for Arsi and agreed, "Alright, I'll do it. Let's take the test together."

Half an hour later, at the starting line, two Ferraris lined up side by side. At Ariel's signal, the cars roared to life and sped off. This time, Wilbur held back, not flooring the pedal, to let Arsi take the lead and enjoy himself.

Following closely behind, Wilbur watched as Arsi skillfully maneuvered the Ferrari through sharp turns and drifted with ease. Wilbur could not help but smile. The race consisted of just two laps. As they finished the first lap and approached the starting point, Wilbur noticed a few people standing by the roadside.

These individuals stood there, seemingly lost in thought. But as the Ferraris zoomed past, Wilbur saw them in the rearview mirror suddenly jump up and cheer loudly. The stark contrast between their earlier indifference and sudden excitement made Wilbur question if he had just imagined their previous behavior.
