Living With My Lady Boss

Chapter 2312

The bodyguard had a glint in his eyes that suggested he thought little of Wilbur. Wilbur was quick to catch on to what was going on and nodded. "Sure, I'd love to meet Mister Fawkes."

"This way, please."

The bodyguard gestured to Wilbur, who followed him out of the auction room. Wilbur did not actually want to get to know Fawkes. He was only saying so to avoid having other people try to get close to him.

Wilbur had successfully bid for the most valuable items in the auction, which was a clear indicator of his wealth. A dozen or so pairs of eyes landed on him then, and their owners would have come crowding over even if the bodyguard had not

shown up.

However, things were different now. Everyone else looked rather disdained upon hearing Wilbur agree to meet Mister Fawkes. They were now certain that Wilbur had only come for the auction as a ploy to be acquainted with Mister Fawkes.

Fawkes was the biggest jeweler in all of Moda. He even owned a diamond mine. He had become the richest man in Moda twenty years ago, and his wealth had only multiplied by at least ten times since then.

A billionaire like that was bound to be known globally, and anyone would want to get close to him. However, Fawkes had a strange habit of never responding to people who tried to approach him. He had to be the one to reach out to anyone he would like to work with, and these people would usually never say no to such an offer.

Fawkes had a cold demeanor but was a brilliant businessman who never

mistreated his work partners. Everyone knew that working with him was bound to be a great opportunity.

That was why so many tycoons were still willing to work with Fawkes despite his eccentric personality.

The bodyguard led Wilbur to a private room outside, where Wilbur met Fawkes. He was an old man with white hair, looking to be in his sixties, and wearing a full suit.

Fawkes was in the middle of admiring an oil painting when Wilbur entered the room. The bodyguard came up to whisper in Fawkes' ear, who smiled and said, "I see."

"I must say, Mister Penn, that you're rather creative. Well, you've succeeded. I have a project worth fifty million dollars that I need someone to work on, and I think you could be the man for the job. However, my offer comes with one condition."

Wilbur frowned. "What is it?"

Fawkes' smile slowly slid off his face. "Mister Penn, you paid eighty million dollars for the star of tonight's show, the ore weighing almost three hundred kilograms. I'm asking you to sell it to me for seventy million dollars."

"Seventy million?"

Wilbur asked, "Mister Fawkes, are you asking me to sell you the ore at a loss?" "That's exactly what I'm asking. I told you that I'd give you a project worth fifty million dollars, so I promise you won't be making a loss here."noveldrama

"But that's not what I was thinking."

Wilbur did not bother delaying his words with Fawkes. Wilbur had no plans to sell the ore, and said, "Right, Mister Fawkes. I'll be willing to give you the ore if you pay me a hundred million dollars."
