Fawkes glowered at Wilbur, who shrugged and turned to leave while saying, "I guess we don't have a deal, then."

"You!"

Fawkes watched as Wilbur disappeared through the door, hardly able to contain his fury. "No one has dared to speak to me like that in twenty years. Who does this guy think he is, huh?"

The bodyguard walked over then. "We've looked into him, Mister Fawkes. Wilbur Penn isn't from here."

"That's great, then. Make sure the guy doesn't make it out of Moda today, Devon. I want it to look like an accident."

"Of course, Mister Fawkes." Devon nodded and left the room.

Fawkes sneered coldly. "That'll teach you not to mess with me.

Fawkes was powerful now, but he had been a newbie just like everyone else twenty years ago. He had met his fair share of business disputes and would have been wiped out had it not been for his ruthless ways.

Wilbur's appearance had humiliated Fawkes, and he was hellbent to teach this young man a lesson!

Wilbur drove a van all the way to the northern borders of Moda. The capital of Moda was up north, which was only a little over an hour's drive to the Kosanto border.

He could very well keep the items in his demiplane but chose to get himself a van so as not to cause suspicion. Wilbur's plan was to get these items over to Kosanto, and then store them in his demiplane after crossing the border.

Wilbur had entered his demiplane during a toilet break at the auction and saw that there were around three hours left on the timer.

It was clear that he did not have time to attend any more auctions. He could only pray that these items would get him enough grace points.

Wilbur drove out of the Monsato freeway and headed north. While passing by a crossroad, he sensed that the two cars on either side of him seemed to be waiting for something.

This was clearly bad news, and Wilbur floored the accelerator as he zoomed out of the crossroad. The two cars on either side crashed into each other just as Wilbur exited the crossroad, leaving the scene with a tremendous explosion that started a huge fire.

Wilbur had seen many instances like this and was almost certain that Fawkes had been behind this. The guy was jealous that Wilbur had gotten all the featured items at the auction, so he sent his men to go after Wilbur in secret.

Of course, Wilbur had the protection of his dragon aura that could sense anything within a hundred-meter radius around him. Thus, it was going to be difficult for Fawkes' ploys to work.

After avoiding the third planned accident, Wilbur finally made it out of the busy city. He came up to a roundabout with fewer cars and drove through it as quickly as he could.
