Please Give Me Another Chance Mrs Hamilton

Chapter 462

Jean hurriedly turned away, her chin dipping downward as if she wanted nothing more than to avoid this conversation. "This has nothing to do with you, so stop asking!"

Even though she said that, she was thrilled on the inside. That damned Adam had seized every opportunity to humiliate her while Brad was away from Janctera City. Now that Brad was back, it was time for her to settle the score.

Wasn't Adam determined to bring Brad back into the family fold? Jean would make sure that didn't happen. After all, Nadine Scott was no match for her.

Presently, Jean looked as though she had been gravely wronged. Brad had once promised her that he would take care of her for life, whether in wealth or poverty, in sickness or in health.

Back then, when he had a heart attack and his life hung by a thread, Jean was diagnosed with kidney disease. Not wanting to be a burden to him, she went abroad. But now that he had the means to take care of and cherish her, there was no way he would stand by and watch her suffer.

Jean couldn't stop her tears from falling, her teeth sinking into her lower lip. "Please, just drop it, okay?"

Her reluctance to speak only fueled his suspicion that his grandfather was up to no good. To avoid damaging his relationship with his grandfather, Jean was willing to suffer in silence. This made his heart ache more for her, and he didn't even have the heart to question her.

Brad pulled her into his arms, gently patting her back as he comforted her. "If you don't want to talk about it, you don't have to. I'll go and get the answers from Grandpa myself!"

Lynn stood frozen beside the bed, watching the scene unfold with her mouth agape. If being a master manipulator was a competition, Jean would definitely come out on top.

After sobbing in his arms for a while, Jean stopped. After all, men preferred to be met with a smile, not a tear-streaked face. Having dried her tears, she rested her head on his shoulder and asked softly, "I must have looked awful when I was crying, right?"

Brad wasn't really paying attention when Jean was crying, as his thoughts were consumed by the image of Nadine's quiet, stoic gaze. He remembered when his mother berated her. Nadine hadn't said a word back then. She just stood there, her long lashes casting shadows on her cheeks as Evelyn hurled insults at her.

At the time, he thought Nadine was an incredibly patient person, someone who would just take whatever was thrown at her without ever fighting back. However, he later discovered that nothing could be further from the truth.

Nadine had a biting wit and a razor-sharp tongue, capable of delivering insults that could cut deep.

His mind then wandered to those pictures. Brad pushed Jean's shoulders away and stood upright beside the bed, looking down at her. "Jeanie, what would you do if someone had taken photos of us in an intimate moment?"noveldrama

His voice was low, and his eyes, cold and inquisitive, bore into her as if he wanted to see right through her. Her scalp tingled under the weight of his gaze.

Guilty and uneasy, she lowered her head and feigned innocence. "What photos? Who took them?"
