Chapter 54: Her First-born
Giselle is lying on the hospital bed, watching her favorite show on Netflix, “The Addams Family.” She’s enjoying the show while munching on popcorn.
“That’s the 5th time you’ve watched that movie. Can you please pick another one?” Dr. Krizza said, irritated by the movie choice.
“This is what I like,” Giselle simply answered, causing Dr. Krizza to roll her eyes and cross her arms.
“If you want to watch a different movie, you should go to another room and search for a TV or go to the cinema,” Giselle continued, further fueling Dr. Kriza’s already fuming irritation.
“Pregnancy is not treating you well. You’re like a walking bomb. I bet you’ve already confronted Rolando and told him about our secrets,” Giselle remarked.
Dr. Krizza glared at Giselle, acknowledging the truth in her words, which only increased her irritation. This behavior was uncharacteristic of her, perhaps a result of her pregnancy. At times, she even considered if being pregnant was the reason behind her sudden inclination towards chaos.
“I heard that Davina and Juveline were like that when they were pregnant. I advise you to seek their advice,” Giselle teased, pushing Dr. Krizza to her limits, prompting her to stand up in anger. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
“I hate you,” she angrily declared before storming out of the room. As soon as Giselle heard the loud bang of the door, a satisfied smile crossed her face.
“B*tch,” she whispered under her breath as she grabbed a handful of popcorn and began to eat.
While eating, a door slowly opened, and based on the footsteps, Giselle knew who the person entering the room was: Rolando, the butler slash ex-husband of Dr. Krizza.
“What do you need?” Giselle asked as she placed the bowl of popcorn on her bedside table.
“I just want to ask something,” Rolando asked seriously, which made Giselle give him a side-eye glance.
“About what?”
“It’s serious,” Rolando answered as he slowly pushed the door and locked it.
Giselle sat down on her bed and looked directly at Rolando.
“You have my attention. What is it?”
Rolando coldly stared at Giselle as he walked towards the sofa and sat down.
“Are you threatening Krizza to make her do what you want?” Rolando said coldly, which made Giselle giggle.
“Hahahaha… What a funny guy,” Giselle said between her giggles.
“Why should I threaten her? She’s the one begging me to help her, promising that she will do whatever I want,” Giselle said as she pushed some strands of her hair behind her ears.
“Stop that, I want you to stop ordering those things for her. Especially watching your bastard child,” Rolando said, causing Giselle to roll her eyes.
“Why should I stop? That’s one of my rights since I accepted this deal. Besides, who are you to tell me what to do? As far as I remember, you’re just Xander’s butler and Kriza’s ex-husband. What gives you the right to dictate my actions?” Giselle answered, throwing sharp looks at Rolando.
Rolando just smirked as he crossed his legs and placed his hands on top of his knee.
“You’re just a stripper that Xander picked up at the club. Delusionally thinking of yourself as high-class,” Rolando insulted Giselle, prompting her to sarcastically laugh.
“And you believe you’re all-mighty just because you’re the right-hand of your master. But in reality, you’re nothing more than a dog obediently following his commands,” Giselle retorted sharply, leaning back against the headboard of her bed.
“You didn’t realize that I am the one who is watching and guarding your bastard child in the orphanage. And yet you are opposing my request?” Giselle raised her right eyebrow as she judged Rolando for what he was saying to her.
“That’s your job, am I right?” Giselle said.
“Xander ordered you to watch her. It’s part of our agreement and written in the contract. So, why should I feel indebted to you?” Giselle continued, which made Rolando chuckle as he brushed his hair back.
Rolando suddenly felt frustrated with Giselle because all she was saying was true. He is only an assistant to Xander, and here he is ordering Giselle to let go of Krizza. But he forgot that Giselle is not the type of person who is afraid of anything – a woman who always thinks ahead and plays the situation to her advantage.
“Just let go of Krizza. She is pregnant, and stress is not good for the baby,” Rolando said. Giselle sighed as she reached for her bowl of popcorn again.
“It’s my fault for what happened earlier, and I admit my mistake. But Krizza and I had an agreement, and I hate people who don’t fulfill their agreements,” Giselle answered as she side-glanced at Rolando.
“I don’t know why you’re so affected right now. You are no longer a part of her life. She is determined to start a new life with her child without any connection to this family. Having you around will ruin her plan,” Giselle added as she reached for the remote and started browsing for a new movie on Netflix.
Rolando stopped as he felt cold sweat dripping on his face due to what Giselle said to him. He suddenly felt nervous and had a hard time breathing.
“Leave the room if you’re done. I want to watch my movie peacefully,” Giselle commented as she started eating popcorn while watching the movie.
Rolando silently followed what Giselle said as he stood up and walked blankly towards the door. Before he opened the door, he glanced at Giselle. “Please be more understanding of her and don’t put too much pressure on her. She is pregnant,” Rolando said before he twisted the doorknob.
“Let Xander come in when you open the door. He’s already outside waiting for you to finish,” Giselle said, which made Rolando wrinkle his forehead. He just opened the door and to his surprise, Xander was standing in front of the door. He immediately bowed his head as he opened the door wide to let Xander inside the room. After Xander went inside, Rolando carefully closed the door.
As soon as Rolando left, Giselle put the bowl of popcorn back on the bedside table and swiftly closed the TV. Giselle knew that Xander was waiting outside the room as she smelled his perfume lingering inside.
“Why didn’t you go inside?” Giselle asked as she looked at Xander, who was gazing at her intently.
“I heard from Krizza about what happened between the two of you and learned about the deal you made for her in exchange for getting pregnant with Rolando’s child,” Xander said coldly, causing Giselle to smirk.
“And what about it?” Giselle playfully asked as she seductively licked the tip of her finger.
“You know it’s a secret that you have a child that isn’t mine,” Xander said, making Giselle chuckle.
“Xander, it’s not my problem. You knew from the start that I have a child; you even used her to threaten me,” Giselle mockingly said as she seductively looked at Xander. Unknowingly, Giselle licked her lips while gazing at him, causing Xander to blush as he felt something stirring under his pants.
Xander closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and sighed. “We have an agreement that you will not tell anyone about that.”
“It’s my fault. I just really need someone to check on her from time to time, as the person you assigned for that is busy with other things. But I won’t tell anyone about it anymore. Besides, it’s Krizza to whom I disclosed the information about my child. I believe she will keep her mouth shut, even though she’s a reckless b*tch.” Giselle said, making Xander shake his head. Krizza is a smart woman but becomes reckless when she is mad. Krizza spilled out all of Giselle’s plans earlier in the garden while having an argument with Rolando, and it became a big problem. What if someone hears the conversation? The only good thing that happened earlier is that Flora is the only one who heard the conversation – the one that Miranda is taking care of. And it’s easy to manipulate Flora because of her closeness to Miranda. She will believe whatever she is told.
“Just don’t f*cking do it again. Especially putting my baby in danger,” Xander said, causing Giselle to nod her head and smile at Xander.
“Don’t worry, I’ve learned from my mistakes,” Giselle said as she rubbed her big belly.
“In a month and a half, you will meet this child. So, fix all the things you have to do. I want you to take over this family for the sake of this child,” Giselle said while looking at her belly.
“And by that time, my first-born and I will be in another country, starting a new life there,” Giselle continued, which made Xander a little sad. He didn’t know why, but maybe he thinks it’s just because of the temporary attachment that Giselle and he had – due to their sexual relationship and his role as her advisor.
“It’s really soon.”
