At the Beckham Mansion, Harrison had just finished dinner when he was alerted that Magnus was here.

The living room was filled with the aroma of tea. Harrison stared at Magnus and asked, “You haven’t been working at the ST Group lately – did Joseph ask you to do anything?”

Magnus was surprised, “Did he already know?”.

Although Harrison asked Magnus, he had already done the research. He asked Magnus to come in just to confirm it. It was always the same for him when Magnus came looking for him.

Harrison took a sip of his tea with a frown, there was something a little stern and forbidding about his face.

Magnus swallowed hard, but his throat felt dry, so he took a sip of the tea as well.

“Six years ago, Mr. Beckham asked Cesar to arrange a surrogacy arrangement, Mr. Beckham planned to ask the surrogate mother to go abroad after giving birth. Magnus explained for Joseph carefully. “Caesar should have compensated Amapola.”

“Compensate?” Harrison was beyond irritated, “He really thinks he can do whatever he wants with his money.”

The atmosphere in the room was growing more and more intense.

Feeling uncomfortable, Magnus kept drinking his tea, he was almost full.

Mark tried to break the tension, so he whispered, “Mr. Beckham, Mr. James is not finished talking. You should calm down and let him explain why this girl is back.”

Hearing this, Harrison nodded his head.

Magnus secretly breathed a sigh of relief, “It’s because Joseph found out that something went wrong with the surrogacy arrangement, that’s why he sent me to investigate. Upon further confirmation, I found out that Amapola was that girl. She was married, but had no children. In addition, her husband had advanced gastric cancer and didn’t have much time left.”

Harrison felt sorry for this.

“We should offer our help now that we know.”

Magnus shook his head, “Mr. Beckham told me to transfer the money to her, but she didn’t get it. She said it was impossible to cure her husband, so the money was useless. She will go to Britain to continue studying after her husband’s funeral. But unfortunately she didn’t have a child after she got married, so she just wanted to meet little Noah before she went abroad.”

Harrison said quietly, “It seems a reasonable request.”

“Mr. Beckham, I think we should discuss this later.” Mark reminded him, “If Noah were to meet his mother, what would Miss Downey have to do?”

Hearing this, Harrison frowned deeply.

It was a complicated problem, he thought.

After Hayden met Amapola at the restaurant, these days she talked business with her clients, attended a lot of dinners, and went to the hotel to sleep most of the time.

In fact, she wasn’t that busy, but she was trying to avoid running into Joseph.

“I see.” Hayden waved his hand, “Okay.”

She was going to attend the party and then explain it to Joseph.

Now that there was a woman claiming to be Noah’s mother, Hayden would stop Poppy from taking Noah away from him.

The next night, the Beckham Family held the party on the top floor of the Zifeng restaurant.

Harrison was traditional, so his birthday party was old-fashioned and demure. There were hors d’oeuvre tables all around the banquet hall, with the head table near the hosts’ area. Harrison was dressed in black and gold, looking quite energetic.

When he arrived at the restaurant, Mark asked Hayden to sit at the head table next to Joseph.

In fact, she wasn’t supposed to sit there, since she and Joseph weren’t married yet. Now that she was sitting at the head table, all the guests knew that she was the future Mrs. Beckham and that they would be counting on her later.

“Hayden.” Harrison was glad to see her.

Hayden nodded and looked directly at Harrison, ignoring Joseph standing next to her, “Where are Noah and Stella? I don’t see them.”

Joseph spoke to him before Harrison answered, “They went to the bathroom with the babysitter.”

Hayden frowned slightly and didn’t answer, looking toward the bathroom.

He should have avoided eye contact with Joseph, but he spotted a guest he wasn’t expecting.

The southeast corner of the banquet hall was away from the head table, and the guests seated there were some people the Beckham Family barely knew. They went out of their way to be guests. And some of them were journalists.

But Hayden saw Amapola among them.

She looked calm and tender in her cream-colored dress, looking toward the bathroom just like Hayden.

Hayden felt puzzled, as if someone grabbed her heart and tugged at it. She turned around and asked Joseph right away, “Did you invite her?”

Joseph didn’t know what she was talking about, but then he saw Poppy.

Laughter from the children came out of the bathroom. Then Stella and Noah came running out, followed by the two nannies.

“Mommy!” Seeing that Hayden was here, the children ran to her immediately. But something in Noah’s hand fell to the ground as he passed Poppy.

Poppy bent down and picked it up, handing it back to Noah.

Hayden clenched his fists and became enraged.
